CME

Thomson American Health Consultants (AHC) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Thomson American Health Consultants designates the following CME activities for Category 1 credit hours in the Physician's Recognition Award of the American Medical Association. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

These CME activities were planned and produced in accordance with the ACCME Essentials.

In addition, some activities within this program have been approved by the American Academy of Family Physicians as having educational content acceptable for Prescribed credit hours. Term of approval covers issues published within one year from the beginning distribution date. Credit may be claimed for one year from the date of this issue. Those specialty areas that are approved through the AAFP are: Alternative Medicine (Elective credits only), Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, and Primary Care. Within the Emergency specialty area, the monographs that are credited for 2.0 hours also provide AAFP credit; however, all of the other tests within this area are not approved for AAFP credit.

Other activities have been reviewed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and are acceptable AAP credit hours. These credits can be applied toward the PREP Education Award available to Fellows and Candidate Fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Others provide Category 1 credit from the American College of Emergency Physicians or Category 2B credit hours from the American Osteopathic Association.

For tests in the area of Obstetrics and Gynecology, physicians can submit a copy of their certificate and their ACOG identification number to receive 1 Category 1 cognates per test. Submit requests to:
